sorry for late reply, as i had lost this mail.

Ditch gnome-terminal on RHEL4. It is slow ( redraw issues) and is a bit
buggy. xterm is way better, and lot less buggy.

gnome-terminal on FC6/RHEL5 beta is much better and have faster
response.
