control+shift?

Hi All,

With gnome 2.14 I was able to hold control and shift and then type a
utf-8 number and it would insert the utf-8 character. Now with gnome
2.16 it seems to be gone. Does anyone know how to get this behaviour
back? I am using Edgy (Ubuntu).
