Gnome 3 support for touchscreens

How good is Gnome 3 when used on a touch screen with no keyboard / mouse?

For example is it possible (or will it be possible in 3.4 or 3.6) to 
have an on screen keyboard automatically pop up when the focus in on a 
text entry widget and then auto hide again?
