Morning Marcus, thank you for the quick reply. After reading
the above I
went and Googled ubuntu + evolution 3.12.8 and came up with
this:
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/3.12.8-0ubuntu1/+build/6583522
If I'm reading this correctly, and I'm probably not, does the
word
PROPOSED mean that if approved or whatever this will end up in
the
repositories as an update?
It appears to be a proposed package for Vivid, which will be 15.04. If
you're running 3.12, I'm guessing you're using the gnome3-team ppa? It
looks like even their -staging repository is still at 3.12.7, as well,
even for 14.10. Perhaps filing a bug on their launchpad to see if you
can get some traction on updating the version for 14.04? Letting them
know which evolution bugs are fixed by the update may be helpful.

Thanks Michael, I'll do that. Where on Launchpad would I go to do this,
just launchpad.net/ubuntu?
