[gnome-love] question about the panel

Hi,

hopefully this is the right list.
I wanted to know how I can disable the panel starting up with gnome by
changing one of the .gnome files.  It is my understanding that
gnome-session is responsible for the panel's start up, but how does it do
this ? Is the panel command hard-coded into gnome-session ? Any ideas on
how to disable the panel without user intervention ?

My goal is to put this into a %post -script for an rpm.
