i asked him offlist to explain further which he did, but unfortunately he
did not reply to the list (i did ask him to maybe i did not say it
clearly)

so to save him typing it agian and to help out Maya and anyone else who is
wondering what he meant here is what he sent me

(i was trying to help but not offering to code, so i unfortunately
the best i do was to point out the GTK2 tutorials)
