I was given this mail address when I asked for a small project to start

I learned some C programming this semester and want to learn more. I've
touched GNOME 1.x briefly in the past both in C and in python but don't
know much of it. Any help would be apreciated.
This list seems to be a bit silent these days, maybe all the core hackers
are still exhasted from releasing Gnome 2.0.0?
Hmm, I'm not yet an active coder in Gnome (just 2 or 3 patches), but If you like
to get started have a look at Chema Celorio post to this list about helping;
archived at http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-love/2001-May/msg00105.html
Luis Villa has a good list of bugs that need fixing in a mail archived at
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2002-July/msg00063.html
with a lot of links directly into the gnome bug-tracking system. Maybe something
in there is something for you. Some of the bugs are really easy to fix.
