Why are people not using integrated environments, like Eclipse, Netbeans or Anjuta?
Mostly historical I suspect. Most of us tend to program like they did in the early days.. emacs in a window + a command line so we can test the application. Although IDEs do this, I know I personally tend to favor this method because it each window has its own context.
