Hello,
I'd like to write a daemon which sends mpd "now playing"
song names to
Empathy. I've never programmed anything related to GNOME
before and was
hoping someone could throw me some hints. I've been reading
the
telepathy book and I've narrowed it down to
"SimplePresence". Am I on
the right track? Can someone please point me to a similar
implementation
which I could use as reference?
Hi Ankur,
I am not entirely sure what you want to achieve, I would invite you to consider if D-bus/python could be the
technology for your project?
http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/dbus
http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-python/doc/tutorial.html
From a personal perspective, I have have achieved great deal of satisfaction, starting from an inexperienced
position, using Python/DBus for my projects.
cheers,
Richard
