Most distributions still use esound's API but with Pulseaudio.
Sure, and this option works in Gentoo.
But are there any plans to remove esound altogether? Are there plans to
use libsydney or libcanberra (I don't remember which one does what)? Or
to split out the esound library from the server? (or add a ./configure
option to just build the library?)
I'm just looking for a little perspective on the subject so that we can
start adapting :)
Patches go in bugzilla...

Thanks for your help
