FWIW, it's not sad at all. The only things left in there are a
GStreamer-based mixer (obsoleted by the PulseAudio-based code now in
gnome-control-center), and the gstreamer-properties, largely unneeded on
modern desktops.
The only application left is the sound recorder, of which you wrote a
new version.
Florent, here are a couple of notes:
- Use the GStreamer profiles, rather than libgnome-media-profiles
- The design probably needs updating, the state-of-the-art UI design has
changed since Hylke made a first pass at the design
- Would be best to test this against the upstream GTK+, rather than
Ubuntu's:
data/grecord.ui: <property name="ubuntu_local">True</property>
- Got a few warnings:
GLib-CRITICAL **: g_source_remove: assertion `tag > 0' failed
- The Play button is clipped in the list of recordings
Etc. I would hop on #gnome-design, and start discussing the details of
this sound recorder. Does it make sense to have this integrated into a
Notes taking application instead, for example?
Cheers
