sync won't work. "Das Basisverzeichnis" (The main dir) appears and nothing happens

Hi,

trying to hotsync my palm zire 71, my palm makes the hotsinc sound, I
get a pupup window telling me "das Basisverzeichnis" (The main
directory) and then the sinc porcess ends with the palm giving this
sound. Everything takes 3 seconds or so. Nothing is synced.

I use evolution 1.4.6 and gnome-pilot 2.0.0 and debian unstable
