[Gnome-print] Ask a question....

Hello guys...
I'd like to ask a question. I am developing a vector editor program with 
  GTK+  as an exercise on my University (www.cs.uoi.gr), and I am trying 
to export the drawing area at postscript. I found that gnome-print is a 
great interface but me (and my professor) do not want to have dependence 
from GNOME , in order to be used in many Unix platforms (such as 
Solaris, BSD and more).

Can I install gnome-print in a machine and use it from my program, 
without having installed GNOME??
