Hello!
This is cool!
As much I would like to plug that into gnome 1.4 framework, I am afraid that
the full thing has to wait for gnome 2.0 with full featured print configuration
library. The current configuration mechanism in gnome-print simply is not
suitable for any fine-grained work.
Nevertheless, I am looking, how much needed information can be plugged into
existing code. In minimal we can ship customized Omni printer definition files
with gnome-print, and encode additional information into drivers, like:
driver "Omni:EPSON Stylus 740:720dpi"
Of course, that is inflexible and dumb, but helps us to keep going, without
breaking the gnome-print code freeze.
Best wishes and thanks for your work,
Lauris Kaplinski
