The names do end up being user visible indirectly. Load up some
content which claims to use font 'Foo'. Most document centric apps
(eg Office) will then display that as the name of the current font.
Frequently by virtue of putting the font list in a combo box that
unavailable name will then appear in the global list if it is the
current font.
