Hi,
actually I sorted out the problem. Searching some newsgroups I found a
command "gnome-save-session --kill" that is used to close the gnome
session. I used that command but it freezed. Doing a gnome-save-session
--kill --disable-sound it worked perfectly so I figured that there was
something wrong with the sound configuration. I opened Soundcard
detection and noticed that the "Enable sound daemon" checkbox was off,
and I selected it. Now logout works perfectly.
I must say i'm a bit amazed because I can't see a direct relation
between both. Still have one problem though, when i logout and try to
login with another user (even the same user) Gnome hangs when displaying
the splash screen, before any completed tasks show up (like launching
the window manager).
My video card is Nvidia GeForce2 MX400 and i'm using their latest
drivers (1.0-4363).
Thanks again,
Celso
