Hi!
Sorry for not providing the necessary details in my first mail. First of
all let me describe what will break without the patch: Everytime a
application wants to read from a Shoutcast or IceCast stream with gnome-
vfs. It will fail because the these server are responding to our http
request not with a HTTP/1.x and the status code but with a ICY and the
status code. What the patch basically does it add a the check for ICY
case. Any parsing code for the status code etc. didn't get touched.
Sebastian Bacher <seb128 debian org> did some testing and as far as I
know he already included the patch in the debian package and he told me
there were no complains yet.
I hope you have now all information you need,
Yours,
Christian
