These couple of statements seem kind of confusing to me. First of all, I
don't believe any code is set in stone. It hasn't been so far :-)
So I don't understand the comment about "too late to change it back".
Second, the point about "voting". This isn't just about aestethics, and
so any simple poll is useless as a good means for a decision. Aestethics
*is* part of usability, but it's only one of the parts.
