Hi,
I'm an happy man with a new Quicknet PhoneJack Card working with Linux and
Gnomemeeting. I'm on ADSL, using SuSE Linux 8.1 with the new Gnomemeeting rpm
version 0.96.1 : everything seems to work perfectly, but...
There is an NAT/PAT Router (french BEWAN, not native H.323 support) to cross !
I've already managed to work with gnomemeeting, and sound/video worked well in
duplex. Obviously I have to use the wonderful option :
Enable IP translation -> Yes
Now I want to phone by internet via the gatekeeper gk.microtelco.com
But, at the moment, before to phone someone I have to play with this option
two times.
1 - If I want to be recorded on the gatekeeper host, I need to uncheck
Enable IP translation -> No
With
In General -> Directory Settings -> Gatekeeper
Registering method : Gatekeeper host (It's changing all the time to : not
to be recorded)
Gatekeeper ID :
Gatekeeper host : gk.microtelco.com
Gatekeeper alias : ***mon_alias***
Gatekeeper password : ***mon_password***
-----------------------
2 - Then, I'm quickly registered (bmac 66 7 159 99)
But without the IP translation checked : I can't receive the song !
So, I have to go back in the menu, pray to stay registered (it's always the
case) and do :
Enable IP translation -> Yes
It seems to be strange and not logical, because to be registered on
ils.seconix.com, I need this IP translation. But like that, it works. I don't
understand why I can't be registered with the IP translation checked. Each
time, I've tried to keep it on, I've got :
"Error while registering with Gatekeeper"
With this console message via the command < gnomemeeting -d 5 > :

3 - After those manipulations, everything works well and I can ring the world.
But, it's a real gymnastic and it took me ages to find it.
Does anybody know how to set up this thing ONCE and properly ?
Thank you and bravo to Damien and his team for this job,
Gnomemeeting is great.
