No, there is a deadlock in the routine trying to determine the friendly
name of a device when such a device doesn't exist.
Formerly, the bug didn't appear, because the plugin only returned valid
devices (ie your /dev/video wouldn't have been returned), but starting
with kernel 2.6, the old devices detection is not working anymore, so
invalid devices are also returned. Those non-existing devices cause a
deadlock. I suppose Julien will fix it if one day a definitive plugins
system is finished by Craig.
So that is not a normal behavior and that's something to fix, but we
need to wait for Craig to move things in pwlib CVS...
