Hello to all, GnomeMeeting OPAL is now parallely installable with GnomeMeeting 1.2. It is available in the "opal" branch on CVS. (cvs -z9 co -r opal gnomemeeting) You have to use the --program-suffix=-snapshot parameter to autogen.sh. That will ensure that the manpage, the binary and gnomemeeting-config-tool are installed with -snapshot as suffix. (for example, gnomemeeting-snapshot, man gnomemeeting-snapshot). However, intltool won't work with --program-suffix. I've tried everything I could, so you also have to do some "bricolage" to be able to use a separate namespace for GConf schemas and keys, menu entries, and such. I have changed much code and stuff to work around this, so having a separate GnomeMeeting for the OPAL version and the classical version is relatively easy. I advise that snapshots packagers package both releases and that we ship both of them on snapshots.seconix.com. Notice I might ask for a debug version but that's for later. Here is a summary of what you have to do : 1) install and compile pwlib and opal (./configure, make, make install) 2) cvs -z9 co -r opal gnomemeeting 3) cp gnomemeeting.desktop.in gnomemeeting-snapshot.desktop.in cp gnomemeeting.schemas.in.in gnomemeeting-snapshot.schemas.in.in cp gnomemeeting.service.in gnomemeeting-snapshot.service.in cp src/gnomemeeting.server src/gnomemeeting-snapshot.server 4) Edit configure.in, change "gnomemeeting" into "gnomemeeting-snapshot" in AC_INIT 5) Compile as usual. You will have gnomemeeting and gnomemeeting-snapshot available at the same time on your machine and using 2 separate configuration spaces. Notice that there are still bugs, some in GnomeMeeting, some in OPAL. You can find the list of problems here : http://wiki.seconix.com Do not report any bugs that are mentionned there. I will work to add SIP support soon.
