I might be able to look into it in 2 or 3 weeks though. Actually you don't even have to look at the ALSA code at all. It is more in the routine that associates real names to devices names. I can have a look at it too, but not now either. So if you can come with a fix, then it is superb. If not, I'll end up doing it myself.
