Hi everyone,
some of you might already have heard it, but here comes the great news:
GnomeMeeting CVS is capable of using H263 for video transmission.
You'll need to download the codec binary or compile it by hand. The
packages were built against the one at:
http://www.voxgratia.org/bin/libavcodec-0.4.7-linux.bin.tar.gz
Instructions for compilation are at:
http://www.voxgratia.org/h263_codec.html
To use the H263, simply unpack/install libavcodec.so to /usr/lib/pwlib/
and off you go ;)
I wanted to test so I install codec in /usr/lib/pwlib, run GM and go to
druid configuration. Press next button till I'm on video device (pgae
8/9) and then press the test button: segfault. I have a Logitech USB
canera with GM CVS 20040517 I tried with this codec installed in
pwlib/codecs/video: same result
Don't know if it has something to do with this but ... However, where I
see/set that I'm using this codec?
Daniel
H263-capable CVS dists are so far:
Debian SID, SARGE, WOODY, Slack9.1 and SuSE 9.0
Please report any oddities and further feature requests concerning H263
