Thank you for your replys.

Heh - you are indeed making me jump through hoops!  It appears that
indeed I need the opal branch.

This in turn needs opal.  I have hunted around and found this on
sourceforge.net/projects/openh323 - I do hope this is the right one as
the openh323 stuff is quite different from that on seconix.com ...

The 'official' release of Feb didn't compile, so I did a co of head for
opal only.

I've successfully built gnomemeeting and run it up - funnily enough
there are now loads more SIP options :)

Unfortunately, it's now 4:00am here in Australia and I'm afraid I can't
call anyone to try it out :(

It could be advantageous to note all of this on the website for others
interested in SIP.
