I'm trying to get gnomemeeting 0.93.0 working on a debian woody
distribution. My friend John is in the same room using redhat and
gnomemeeting 0.85.1. John and I can connect, and I can hear him, but
he cannot hear me.
I suspect that I have a problem with esd because when John and I
connect the history in gnomemeeting reports in part "17:02:21 Could
not suspend ESD".
Also, after I quit gnomemeeting and try to run esd, it fails with a
long report that ends with:
Couldn't open any alsa card! Last card tried was 0
Error opening card 0: Sound protocol is not compatible
Sound device inadequate for Esound. Fatal.
ALSA sound is working. I can record a file with
arecord -v -d 5 -r 8000 test.wav
and then play it back with
aplay -v test.wav
I would appreciate advice.
