Hello,
I run SuSE 8 with ALSA v0.9.0rc3 installed. Soundcard is a via 686. Recognized
audio devices are 0: VIA82C686A (DUPLEX) and 1:USB Audio; recognized mixers
are 0: ICEnsemble ICE1232 and 1:USB Mixer.
I've succesfully upgraded to Gnomemeeting-0.94.1-3. Video is perfect. When
answering an incoming call, I am able to get incoming sound only. When trying
to call someone at ils.seconix.com, I get the following error message:
"Could not open audio channel for audio transmission (soundcard busy?)
Disabling audio transmission." I use a Philips ToUCam: devices are set to:
Audio Player: /dev/dsp0
Player Mixer: /dev/mixer0
Audio Recorder: /dev/dsp1
Recorder Mixer: /dev/mixer1
Doing cat /dev/dsp1 > /dev/dsp0 works flawlessly.
I use KDE. aRts is not enabled, and snd-mixer-oss, snd-pcm-oss and audio
modules are already installed.
When launching GM, I get the following modprobe messages:
Dec 5 23:02:07 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-3
Dec 5 23:02:07 linux modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-3-3
Dec 5 23:08:05 linux kernel: usb_control/bulk_msg: timeout
When I received these messages, I'd already applied the fix that SuSE's
Support Database provides for the timeout problem.
Any ideas? Thanks for your help.
Pablo Ortuzar
