well the delay is always there, as long you've got ping-round-trip-times other than 0 *g* and as long as your pc and the other first have to actually work on the packets (compress, transmit, etc.)
so as long the delay ain't greater than about 100-400 ms it should be ok.. i know that 400ms is a pain, but well, at least the german DSL-lines have 180ms already when doing 'nothing' =) so if one of the pcs ain't too fast and the lines are busy i'd say 400ms should be the max (at least the max i'd take, befor taking mesaures).. maybe this would be a nice topic for the faq: "how much delay will it have?" (Damien, you read me?)
