I only recall seeing 1 dissenting voice, and a few that were in favor. 
I'm mildly curious right now (I'll be much more curious once my friend
give me my microphone back and my parents want to try video-conferencing
again).  Perhaps to satisfy everyone you could send out the Changelog
once a week or maybe every 3 days?  That's hardly enough to qualify as
spam.  Once a day isn't much either, although this list and for some
reason all the other ones I'm subscribed to have really picked up
recently.
