You can download and install the nightly snapshot and compile it with
--disable-gnome
You will loose features such as:
- the about box
- the configuration assistant
- session management
- incoming call sound
- bonobo support
You will however still need :
- libxml2 for XDAP
- gconf for the config management
- GTK+
But no Gnome specific library.
