Hi,
instead of downloading rpm files, try to get tar.gz ones, and to
compile them. Tar.gz files are compressed files, so to decompress
them, put them in a 'working' directory, and type tar zxvf
file.tar.gz. This should create a directory where sources of that
packages will be. Then go into that directory and type ./configure If
everything went well, the you can type make and if ok, then make
install. Anyway, after decompressing each file, you'll probably find a
README file or similar into the directory.
Hope this helped,
Anton
