Yes I am sure. Both opera and mozilla happily browze away and LICQ works fine. I think it may be something about my proxy not accepting the port settings for the server. All access through it from what I can gather has to be on port 6588. Is there a way to change gnomemeetings port setting.

Then you have probably a problem with your provider (probably the DNS
servers) because there are currently 122 registered users and the
machine is up and running ;)
Are you sure you are connected at the internet at all when doing the
ping?
