You should use the webcam microphone, it has a far better quality.
The error message doesn't seem correct. Is it :
"The selected audio device (/dev/dsp) was successfully opened but it is
impossible to write data to this device. Please check your audio setup."
?

If so, it means that there is no problem opening the audio device, that
there is no problem to record from it, but that it can't play back the
recorded sound.

Have you checked that there is no other program occupying the device
like for example artsd? (lsof /dev/dsp shoudl tell you)
