This is probably over my head ;)
I downloaded v 1.5.0 of ptlib, and attempted to configure with
"--with-firewiredc --with-firewireavc". I get errors about missing
libraries (lib1394, dc, avc) and the config stopped.
I can configure without those flags, but it says "No video input configured"
Not sure what to do next ...

0.96.1 doesn't have Firewire support. 0.98 has Firewire support. If you
can compile 0.98 and make it work with your camera, I would be grateful
to get a screenshot.
