[GnomeMeeting-list] 1394 DV cam not recognized?

Hi all.  Thanks for working on 1394 DV support.  That is the only video
device I have.

However, I am having problems with it.  Gnomemeeting is not recognizing the
device.  I am using 0.98 via the Debian files from
http://www.gnomemeeting.org/admin/downloads/latest/debian/

Can someone confirm for me that these were built with 1394 DV support?

Gnomemeeting shows /dev/video[01] and Picture for available video devices. 
A strace shows that it checks /dev/raw1394:

  lstat64("/dev/raw1394", {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0660, st_rdev=makedev(171, 0),
  ...}) = 0

Video capture works well with kino and dvgrab (using libraw1394-5 0.9.0-4).
Permissions on /dev/raw1394 are correct.  Can anyone suggest where I am
going wrong here?
