Actually I think that is a wonderfull idea. I always wondered what
mailinglists are for except maybe for developers to communicate. Most people
needing help would find their problems easier in a forum if it is split into
specific subforums (hardware/drivers, installation, configuration, etc). And
they subscribe so they can post, but unsubscribe so they won't get in their
inbox all the possible problems and solutions that happen. Most people need
directed help. I doubt any of them search their inbox first before posting
anyway... Maybe also a "Offtopic" thing for people who are active in the
forums but feel like posing a side question (kernel, general linux, etc). So
IMHO: Go for it. :)
