I followed the FAQ and downloaded and compiled all the necessary packages
from scratch:
=> openh323 and pwlib
=> openldap
=> gnomemeeting (plus all necessary gnome libs etc)
I experienced only minor problems, all went quite well really.
Now in order to get started somewhere, I select: => Tools => Addressbook
and then click the Find-button: a list of all users on ils.seconix.com is
fetched and displayed. Using tcpdump I see ldap-traffic, so ldap seems to
be working fine. Great so far.
But when I double-click any of the people in the list, the response 'User
not found' immediately shows up in the status-bar. No TCP-traffic is even
generated. This doesn't make any sense to me; why doesn't it work?.
My gatekeeper settings are: 'do not register', but I do not understand
what exactly that means in this context. After all, I am already
registered, and see my own name on the list.
My problem is that I am missing the big picture, and the data-flow between
different servers etc. Is there a block-diagram somewhere? Any log-files I
can inspect?
Regards,
Z.
