upgrade to 1.0.2 and make sure you install libpwlib-plugins-v4l and
libpwlib-plugins-alsa. If that does still not detect audio devices
properly, make sure you can playback to ALSA with XMMS and watch your
video with xawtv. Once you have that working, GM should be able to use
the devices too.
