Hi Anne, > that can be a long process. The 2.6 kernel is not using OSS anymore > (/dev/dsp) but ALSA instead, that can explain why you lost your sound. cutting into here, there is to say, that 2.6 does actually ship OSS modules. So it's not technically impossible to have OSS with 2.6, yet it however is depreciated. To use the ALSA on a /dev/dsp you need the snd-usb-audio (for the USB cam mic) and snd-pcm-oss (for the OSS emulation). The rest should show up loaded automagically. Yet for native ALSA drivers loaded, having the libpwlib-plugin-alsa is the far better option. Especially you have a more meaningful device naming than with the OSS plugin. ;) > I suggest you going on irc.gnome.org,#gnomemeeting to see if somebody can > help you in live. It's quite quiet around there. So don't be frustrated if it takes ages for someone capable of helping to show up. ;) -- Best regards, Kilian
