OK, I got your debug file privately.

It clearly indicates that the ALSA device can not be opened. Don't you
get a popup warning from GnomeMeeting indicating the device can not be
opened?

If you get one, you clearly missed to give one important piece of
information ;)

If you don't get one, then there is a bug.
