[GnomeMeeting-list] days and days of compiling (fink, gnome, gm)

Hi all,

okay

this is getting a bit ridiculous it seems

I've been trying to download and install gnomemeeting for the last 3 or 4
days...........
and initially I thought a 'fink install gnomemeeting' would do the trick
because it would get the required packages and I'd have a basic Gnome setup
and be able to run gnomemeeting.

However, after days and days of compiling, (OS X 10.3.3 on an iBook) it
still had not downloaded any of the gnome-core, the gnome-desktop, any
window manager or anything!
So now I'm at it again, downloading and compiling..............compiling
.......... compiling..........


is it really supposed to be this tough?



any suggestions for direct packages I should d/l and compile would be
helpful I suppose,


The thing is that the binaries for Gnome are all v1.4 and not 2.4.........so
everything has to be compiled.......... :-(
