As Daniel told,

You choose to automatically discover the gatekeeper, fill in your alias
and password for authentication and choose to register. If it faills,
you will get a popup. If it works you will get a message in the
statusbar.

Registering to gatekeepers is extensively described in the GnomeMeeting
manual (accessible through the help menu), section "Advanced Usage".
