That sounds like a good solution. However no need to change alsa-utils, but rather libasound. ldd on alsa plugin gives: libasound.so.2 => /usr/lib/libasound.so.2 (0x40027000) So aparently we aren't going natively into kernel hooks, but using alsa userspace. If that version is too new, there might be problems. (a guy on irc yesterday also had issues with the CVS iirc, so downgrading sounds reasonable) -- Best regards, Kilian
