If you are using a Mac, you can use the excellent and compatible
ohphoneX from the Xmeeting project (xmeeting.sourceforge.net), based on
the openh323 and pwlib base that supports GM. They are working on an
opal-based new project as well, so future compatibility seems likely.
I've used this with an iSight and can get both audio and video through
firewire that way. Haven't tried a miniDV camera, but that has a good
chance of working also, based on this.

Hi all,
I have a firewire camera (MiniDV) that I would like to be able to use
as a video and audio source for gnomemeeting. Audio output would be
the 'normal' sound card output.
I have the understanding that I can have video, but not the audio - if
I am correct, how much work is it to get firewire audio input working
as well???
I'm looking to move from PC to Mac Mini and that doesn't have a
line/mic input......
