[GnomeMeeting-list] sound event on gm-1.2.2/amd64

Dear listers,
I tried to compile gnomemeeting-1.2.2 on SuSE9.3/AMD64.
Compilation itself went fine, unless I specify
--enable-memcheck
or something like that wrt  pwlib.

At the deskside, I use a headset pluged to a sound card.
So, I cannot hear the incoming call from the headset.
I tested sound event.   I set the Ring
Output Device to an external USB speaker.
But, the ringing sound goes to the headset.

Am I misunderstanding the meaning of this option?
