ok, the firewall on the machine was on, I turned it off and it detected the NAT ok .... now we are running on windows XP.

am running test calls with a friend ... it works, but there are audio problems. 

perhaps we need headsets .... is there any echo cancellation in ekiga?

(gtk is installed and set in the path )

You mean, doesn't it work *without it*? No Ekiga won't run without
SDL.dll. I have just checked that the version from
http://www.libsdl.org/download-1.2.php works properly.
