You can easily increase this limit yourself, I think by adjusting the
values in
gnumeric.h related to the number of columns/rows. Don't expect the
default to
change in Gnumeric anytime soon.

We have been working towards this for a long time and it's the number
one feature
that we want to get in. I expect it won't take long before this feature
will actually
become available. Probably a matter of a couple of months (but that's
just a
rough estimate, I expect Jody or Jon Kare will correct me on this one
