Hi everybody,
I saw that gnumeric version 0.65 was out, so I thought I'd
upgrade. I use it a LOT to generate LaTeX tables for experiment
reports, and to read excel spreadsheets from my less-than-enlightened
friends -) I really like this program. I am so very impressed!
Previously, I was using the gnumeric that came with Slackware 7.1,
so I had to download/compile a couple things with newer versions
that I currently had: libxml and libole2.
Unfortunately, "configure" fails to find libole2:
checking for libole2 >= 0.2.2 ... <FAIL> not found
configure: error: This version of gnumeric requires an external
libole2 library the latest version can be obtained from
ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/unstable/sources/libole2/
Note: I installed libole2 version 0.2.2 in the default
directories, /usr/local/include/libole2 and
/usr/local/share/libole2.
I don't know enough to pick apart the configure script
(I stared at it a long time, but I just don't grok it).
I'd appreciate any comments or pointers you fine folks can
provide.
thanks!
