Yes, this is definitely a problem with finding the ui file.

No there is something else at work.
    /usr/share/gnome/ui
is the fall back dir hard coded into bonobo.

This definitely returns the versioned directory.  Use strace to
figure out what version it thinks it is looking for.  I'll bet it is
NOT 0.75.
