any resolution on current gnumeric problem?

  has anything been resolved on the current gnumeric display
problems?  i'm using the red hat build 1.0.5-5 build on the 
beta version "limbo", and i still can't get perfectly good
gnumeric files to display properly -- still get spaces or
dotted boxes between the letters.

  ironically, if i save those files as excel files, excel
can display them just fine.  any hints?  please?
