I would like to know if the "Risk Analysis" option in the "Tools" menu
does "Monte Carlo" risk analysis.
it does (or at least it does is your gnumeric is new enough)
Where can I find more information about this function ?
only place i know is the source code, although the doc that comes with
the tool when you fire it up is nearly enough to get you going.
I build gnumeric from cvs 2-3 weeks ago and had a play with the risk
simulation.
I'm writing this from memory so it might be a bit inaccurate...
If you enter something like:
=randompoisson(2.0)
in a cell A1
Then do =A1*A1 in cell A2
Then fire up the risk simulation tool:
* tell it that A1 is the input range
* A2 is the output range
* tell it to do the simulation
You should get a bunch of summary stats for A2.
